Matthew Richmond

Matthew is a Designer and Principal Partner at The Chopping Block, Inc. [choppingblock.com], a full-service graphic design studio founded in 1996 on the principle that good design spans all mediums. As a student of The Cooper Union and unsatisfied with learning just one discipline, Matthew expanded his art studies to Photography and Architecture as well as Graphic Design. Matthew has a habit of merging a bit of technology into most projects, producing work that seamlessly integrates form and function in fun new ways. His work has been awarded at Flash Forward for Design as well as the Communication Arts Interactive Design Annual. This year Matthew and the Block were featured in the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum 2003 Triennial Exhibition. Recent projects include work for The MoMA, LEGO, XM Radio, They Might be Giants, Phish, and Sony Pictures Classics.

When not at the Block, Matthew can often be found teaching Digital Illustration and Advanced Flash to the Graduate students at the School of Visual Arts.
