Steve Heiner

Steve started as many photographers do, working on his Jr. High Newspaper and High School Yearbook staff. His interest in photography and photojournalism later developed while attending Brigham Young University were he finished his schooling by serving and internship at the Price Sun-Advocate in Price Utah. This gave him the opportunity to cover a small town for an award winning twice-weekly paper. He later went to work for the Provo Daily Herald newspaper where he covered news all along the Wasatch Front.

Steve joined Nikon in 1985 as a Technical Representative in Dallas, Texas before moving on to Sunnyvale, California and later back to Salt Lake City, Utah. During his time in the field, he provided technical assistance and training to many pro photographers at events including the Super Bowl, Kentucky Derby, Pan American Games, Shuttle launches, and four Olympics. He has trained military and government specialists all around the country and even at sea in the use of Nikon cameras.

He joined the Nikon management team in their New York offices in 1999 and oversaw the implementation of sales, training and third party programs to better educate dealers, sales people, and ultimately customers about Nikon products. Steve has recently been promoted to General Manager of Digital SLR Systems and Nikkor Lenses.

Steve continues to shoot actively, when time permits and has little time for hobbies.
