John Connell

John Connell is a master photographer with the mentality and creative talent of an artist. Widely recognized for his exquisite photos that combine superior composition and texture with state-of-the-art digital technology. John has established himself as one of Southern California’s finest photographers whose works cover a wide spectrum of subjects and environments. His photos, which have been exhibited in galleries and corporate venues throughout the U.S. range from architectural icons and magnificent sceneries to engaging and colorful treatments of people, places and things.

Born in Canada, John graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and has traveled the world seeking the perfect setting for the perfect photo. He was commissioned to capture the bucolic beauty and breathtaking landscapes of Norway as part of the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, photos that were published in the hardcover book, Norway: Welcome to the 1994 Olympic Winter Games. He has traveled the highways and byways of Canada, and recently toured Scotland where he chronicled in rich photography that country’s ancient countryside and legacy of golf. Eclectic in both subjects and locations, John’s most dominant work has been in and around Southern California, and the beauty spots of Mexico.

His reputation as an accomplished architectural and landscape photographer has attracted such sterling clients as Cesar Pelli, who designed the gleaming Plaza Tower office building in Costa Mesa; C.J. Segerstrom & Sons, where his works are on display in the corporate offices; and The Irvine Company, for whom he has photographed in magnificent detail the unique beauty of its Pelican Hill and Shady Canyon golf courses.

But John’s artistic capability as a photographer goes well beyond architecture and landscapes. He hones his photographic skills and talent through a myriad of subjects and geography, from intriguing portraitures to stunning still-lifes, oceanscapes, sunsets, and the flora and fauna that bring beauty and serenity to our world. Having evolved further to the advanced realm of digital photography and state-of-the-art technology, John eagerly pursues new horizons of color, texture, composition and creative expression that transcend the confines of camera, film and processingŠphoto paper has been replaced with canvas. But whether Old World or New World, John’s work has always reflected his deep commitment to perfection coupled with an energy and creativity that only few possess.
