Doug Bloom

Doug Bloom has been creating digital art for the past nine years. Doug is currently employed at Rhythm and Hues Studios as a Effects Technical Director. Some of the projects Doug has worked on while at Rhythm + Hues include: The Sum of All Fears, Scooby Doo, Xmen2 and The Chronicles of Riddick. Doug has also worked at Digital Domain and other studios where he worked on Star Trek Nemesis and a variety of commercials and music videos. Doug has a broad understanding of the technical and artistic challenges of production and often acts as a bridge between the programmers/scientists and the artists.

With a background in traditional and digital photography in addition to computer animation Doug completed a degree at the School of Visual Arts. While attending SVA Doug took a wide range of courses covering traditional fine arts while advancing his knowledge of more modern artist tools like film, computers and electronics. Doug graduated SVA as a Computer Art major.
