Doug Baker

Doug Baker, Engineering and Technical Development Manager for Graphic Arts at X-Rite Inc., has been working in Digital Imaging, Photo, and Printing Markets for the company since 1991. Doug has been the principal engineer in products such as DTP12, DTP22 (Digital Swatchbook), DTP32, DTP36, DTP41, DTP51, DTP92, DTP94 as well as other well known photo and printing products.

Before joining X-Rite, Doug was a senior engineer working in aerospace electronic design and system architectures in the Los Angeles area. While in southern California, Doug launched a small DTP business with the newly emerging Apple Macintosh platform tools in 1988. The hands on time in the pre-press market would eventually become very valuable toward products and markets X-Rite would pursue.

Education includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oakland University, with emphasis on systems design. Doug presently holds 8 US Patents plus foreign patents.
